HILO (AP) — Firefighters continued their search Wednesday for a missing Kona woman who is believed to have been swept away by fast-moving waters of the Wailuku River.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1LA3bTE ) the Hawaii County Fire Department searched the river and river banks Wednesday in an area known as Boiling Pots where 62-year-old Jolee Reiswig was last seen Monday evening. Rescue swimmers did not turn up any signs of the victim.
Firefighters will continue searching the waters Thursday.
The fire department says Reiswig had fallen off an inflatable tube and couldn’t make it back to the river bank. Her swim tube was recovered Tuesday.
Reiswig runs a bed-and-breakfast and water activity company.
